Covid-19 Safety & Protection Procedures

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we have enhanced our operating procedures and safety measures, putting your safety and comfort at the heart of our hotel operations so that you can book with confidence and relax and enjoy your stay.

We endeavour to provide exemplary standards of service, housekeeping and health & safety, and are proud of our outstanding 5 star EHO food hygiene rating. We have deep cleaning regimes, health safety signage, hand sanitisers stations, perspex protection screens and we request all guests complete a short Covid health questionnaire at check-in. Your room is disinfected and deep-cleaned prior to your arrival and our team all adhere the government’s social-distancing guidelines and wear face masks to ensure your safety and comfort.

We have complied with the government’s ‘COVID-19 Secure’ guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 in the workplace and request that our guests please assist us to successfully combat the spread of COVID-19 to ensure the continued safety and protection of our guests and our staff.

Due to the extra time taken to deep clean your bedroom we please request that guests check-in after 4pm.

As a large Georgian hotel, our public areas offer our guests space and comfort. Please maintain a respectful social distance from other guests and staff for yours and other’s protection and follow safety guidance signage and please wear face-masks in all public areas.

We request that only one household use lifts at a time and stair access is also available to all guest rooms.

Please regularly wash your hands and use the hand-sanitiser available throughout our public areas.

Please restrict your usage of public toilets by using your bedroom toilet instead.

Please make use of your telephone in your room to contact reception whenever you have a query or wish to place a room-service order to minimise queues in our reception area.

Please call ahead on 01248 810415 to book your table reservation for Hansoms Restaurant or The Bulkeley Seafood & Grill where possible.

Contactless Room Service is available for customers who prefer to dine in the safety and privacy of their room and a £5 tray charge is please requested.

We request that guests please complete a short Covid-health questionnaire at check-in and undertake a temperature check.

Please limit guests in each room to one one household where possible and do not permit guests to visit you in your room during your stay.

If you request fresh towels or toiletries please request these from reception and these will be left on service tables outside of your room as no member of our team will enter your room during your stay.

Please adhere to all current government travel restrictions and if returning from abroad, quarantine restrictions.

If you have a continuous cough or high temperature, please do not travel to the hotel and amend your booking and we will reschedule your stay free-of-charge.

We request that you make card payments rather than cash wherever possible as contactless payment is please preferred.

But most importantly of all…….Please stay safe.

The Bulkeley Team

  • Team members undertake daily temperature checks before commencing work and are required to wash their hands (or use hand sanitiser) frequently
  • All team members are required to stay at home if unwell and follow official guidance on self-isolating before returning to work
  • We all adhere to our policy of no physical contact and maintaining a 2m distance wherever possible utilising the protection screens at communication points. PPE is available whenever 2m social-distancing is not possible.
  • Outstanding EHO 5 star food safety and hygiene standards continue to be maintained during all food preparation and delivery.
  • We have a frequent cleaning programme in public areas with particular attention paid to disinfecting high touch areas such as door handles.
  • Extra care has been taken to deep-clean your bedroom. We have disinfected high-touch areas such as door handles and your TV remote.

COVID-19 symptoms

If in the unfortunate case, you have any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste and smell, we ask that you contact us, and allow us to reschedule your stay. It is important to note, that for the safety of our guests and the safety of our team, that any guests displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be requested to seek medical attention. Should you be advised to self-isolate, we will request that you check out immediately and return home.
